International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) Return Filing Webinar

The Motor Carrier Office will show you how to create a username and password to gain full access to your IFTA account. View past filings, receive automatic account notifications, and more! We'll provide step-by-step instruction on how to file and pay your quarterly IFTA tax returns electronically, including information on a non-operations return, non-taxable fuel purchases, and traveling through non-IFTA jurisdictions. Upload a Jurisdiction Schedule, which will automatically input all jurisdictions, miles, and gallons to your IFTA return. This webinar, conducted through Microsoft Teams, should be viewed via a personal computer (PC) or laptop, NOT a phone or mobile device. After registering, you will be emailed a link to the Microsoft Teams webinar the day before the class.

What To Expect If Selected For An IFTA Audit Webinar

The CDTFA's Motor Carrier Office (MCO) will provide information on what to expect during an IFTA audit from the initial notification letter through exit conference. Discover what an auditor looks for, how they arrive at their final result, and your rights during an audit. Learn record retention requirements, how to keep proper distance and fuel records, as well as leased vehicle requirements. Lastly, we will introduce you to the new IFTA Records Review Program and provide you additional IFTA resources so you can avoid the most common errors. This webinar, conducted through Teams, should be viewed via a personal computer (PC) or laptop, not a phone or mobile device. After registering, you will be emailed a link to the Microsoft Teams webinar the day before the class.

Many owners are surprised to find no blanket exemption for their Internet and home-based businesses.
