Welcomes New Chief Financial Officer, External Relations Director

Sacramento – The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) welcomes two new employees, Jason G. Mallet, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Stacie Spector, Deputy Director of Strategic Initiatives and External Relations, who was recently appointed by Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr.

"As CDTFA hits its one year anniversary, we appreciate having the talent and experience of Jason, Stacie, the senior team, and all of the employees working together to strengthen the Department," said CDTFA Director Nicolas Maduros.

Jason G. Mallet will serve as the department's first Chief Financial Officer, a new role in the organization. Mallet started his position on June 20. Mallet joins the CDTFA from Citigroup, where he was Director and Head of China Corporate Finance and Industry Champion of Asia Pacific's Power & Renewables sector. He brings an extensive background in corporate finance, including strategic planning and risk management. As a California native, he also has a deep appreciation for the CDTFA and its role in funding essential services for Californians. He earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Yale University and a Bachelor of Science in International Studies and Finance, with a minor in Dutch, from Indiana University Bloomington.

Stacie Spector was appointed on May 1 by Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. as CDTFA's Deputy Director of Strategic Initiatives and External Relations. Spector served as Senior Advisor for Housing Solutions for the Mayor of San Diego, was Vice President of Strategy and External Relations for the Nutrition Science Initiative, Chief Communications Officer at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, and Associate Vice Chancellor of Communications and Public Affairs at the University of California, San Diego. Spector also served as the Deputy Campaign Manager and Director of Strategic Operations on the Gore for President Campaign in 1999, and was Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Communications at the White House from 1997 to 1999. Appointed by the Governor of California, Spector serves as a Board of Trustee on the California State Bar and is a member of the Board of the San Diego Theatres. She earned her B.A. from Columbia University and is a California native.
